Frequently Asked Questions

Learning to drive is a big step, and it’s normal to have questions before you begin. We want you to feel informed and confident from day one, so we’ve answered the most common questions learners ask us.

How many driving lessons will I need?
Everyone learns at their own pace. The DVSA recommends around 45 hours of professional lessons plus private practice. Some learners need less, others need more. We focus on steady progress and confidence, not rushing. You’ll know when you’re ready for your test.

Do you offer manual and automatic driving lessons?
Yes. You can choose manual or automatic depending on what suits you best. If you’re unsure, we can talk you through the differences and help you decide.

How long are your lessons?
Most lessons are 1 or 2 hours long. Two-hour lessons tend to help you progress faster, because you get more time to practise each skill.

Can I start lessons before passing my theory test?
Yes, you can start lessons before your theory test. Many learners find that real driving experience actually helps them understand the theory better. You will need to pass your theory test before you book your driving test.

What areas do you cover?
We teach learners across North London, including Tottenham, Wood Green, Enfield, Edmonton, Palmers Green and nearby areas. If you’re not sure whether we cover your postcode, just ask. If we’re fully booked, we can match you with a trusted instructor in your area.

Can I choose my instructor?
We always do our best to match you with an instructor based on location, car type (manual or automatic) and availability. If you ever feel you need a different instructor, we will help arrange that. Feeling comfortable is important.

How soon can I start lessons?
Availability depends on your location and schedule, but we always aim to get you started as soon as possible. Lesson demand in London is high, and we work with a network of instructors to avoid long waiting times.

Do you teach nervous learners?
Absolutely. Many students start nervous. Our instructors are patient, calm and experienced in building confidence step-by-step. You’ll never be pushed faster than you are ready.

Do you offer intensive driving courses?
Yes. We offer intensive and semi-intensive options depending on instructor availability. We will discuss your experience level and schedule to help you choose the right course.

What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?
We understand things come up. We simply ask for reasonable notice so we can keep schedules organised. Your instructor will explain their cancellation policy when you begin.

Do you offer night driving lessons?
Yes. Night lessons are an excellent way to build real-world confidence and prepare for independent driving.

Can you help if I failed my driving test?
Definitely. Many of our learners come to us after failing elsewhere. We help identify what went wrong, rebuild your confidence and plan a clear route to your next attempt.
